Museu da Casa Brasileira , São Paulo, October- November 2006
Conception and coordination
For the purpose of being the first step in a program of a visual inventory of the Brazilian house, the exhibition sought to mirror the Brazilian habitats in its rich and little known diversity, celebrating the plurality of ways of living throughout the country. This first edition presented 60 photos, made in four locations. Anna Mariani, known for her extensive work on the facades in the Northeast, went into the homes of the Cariri region, in Ceará. Ieda Marques attended with photos of residences in the Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, lingering especially in the kitchens. The domestic signs of Polish immigration in Parana were portrayed by John Urban. Andres Otero brought to light the architecture from the region Fourth Colony, Rio Grande do Sul, of Italian origin. The choice of images was made by a multidisciplinary team, led by two members of the board of the Museu da Casa Brasileira: the architect Carlos Lemos and the historian Ulpiano Bezerra de Meneses. Exhibition design by Giancarlo Latorraca.
