Coordination

The collaboration between design and craftsmanship in the country since the 1980s, after decades of estrangement, was the subject chosen by Adélia Borges for the first temporary exhibition staged under her management of Brazilian House Museum. The work chosen was developed by textile designer Renato Imbroisi together with the communities of craftswomen in Minas Gerais. With respect to techniques, culture and traditions, he introduced new colors, use of local materials and better finishing. Pieces of weaving, basketry, crochet, knitting and embroidery were presented at the exhibition along with photos by Lena Trindade from Rio de Janeiro depicting the craftswomen and their habitat. Exhibition design by Janete Costa.
