Coordination
With nearly 30 years as a ceramist, Maximo Soalheiro from Minas Gerais, decided to overcome the limitations of ceramics. A difficult support for some projects, ceramics does not embrace large objects and is a complex material when in search of the desired colors. The artist’s response to these limits was to transform these restraints into a field of creation and a start with novel experiences with paper. Since then, all efforts in his workshop focused on finding a synergy between the vocabularies of printing and ceramics. The exhibition reveals the confluence of these two domains, a work that transcends classification, moving from craftsmanship to the digital and from the artistic to the utilitarian.
