Brazilian Stones – Original Design

Vitoria Stone Fair, Vitoria, June 2018

The exhibition presented furniture and objects elaborated with Brazilian ornamental stones, conceived by designers Andrea Macruz, Estudiobola, Studio Rain, Fernando Jaeger, Guilherme Wentz, Jacqueline Terpins, Jader Almeida, Leandro Garcia, Ludson Zampirolli, Ricardo Freisleben, Ronaldo Barbosa and Vivian Coser. Brazil has the largest variety of natural rocks in the world, with about 1,200 commercial types, among marbles, granites, quartzites and quartz. The aim was to stimulate the transformation of the stones into finished products with greater added value, and also to raise the awareness of public opinion and professionals, such as designers, architects, decorators and journalists, regarding Brazilian geodiversity. In a country historically accustomed to selling raw material without any processing and buying manufactured goods, it has shown how the talent and creativity of our designers have the ability to turn that wealth into finished products. The initiative was from Brazilian Association of Ornamental Stones Industry (ABIROCHAS) in partnership with the The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency – Apex-Brasil in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Agency for Promotion of Exports and Investments), in the Brazil Original Stones project.
