A CASA museu do objeto brasileiro, São Paulo, August to October 2015
The transformation of clay is strongly evident in Brazilian culture. Several indigenous peoples have a sophisticated production of ceramic utensils; in every state of the country there are communities of craftsmen engaged in working with this material; and in recent decades its use by artists and urban designers has increased. Ceramics of Brazil brought a transversal view of this production. It left aside the masters of the past to concentrate on the current time. The exhibition put together, on the same basis, creations of Indigenous peoples, popular artists and designers also scholarly artists and designers, universes so often perceived only in an impervious way. The participants were: Indigenous peoples Paiter Surui and Wauja/ Mehinako, Paneleiras de Goiabeiras, Irinéia Nunes da Silva, Antônio Nunes, Inês Antonini, Bruno Jahara, Heloísa Galvão, and Sara Carone. Exhibition design: Pedro Mendes da Rocha.
